Announcing the First Annual International Shiphandling Championship! 50 licensed, professional mariners will compete for $50,000 in total cash prizes by demonstrating their shiphandling skills on 4 vessels in different locations and on a state of the art TRANSAS simulator. The winner will be International Shiphandling World Champion as judged by an independent panel of judges and the TRANSAS Evaluation and Assessment System (TEAS).rnThe competition will run for three days. All participants will compete the first two days, with ten finalists battling it out on the third day. The weekend will be capped off with an awards ceremony followed by a dinner reception. Contestants are invited to immediately apply with the first fifty spaces going to the first fifty qualified applicants to sign up.
