An extract from the book "When I was studying business and journalism at Columbia University in New York, I won an internship with a major movie studio. However, this apparently perfect placement turned into a perfect storm. On the Friday evening before the Monday of my final presentation to the Board, my then boss, who had hardly spoken with me all summer, redlined my entire presentation. Although it was backed by evidence, he felt it contradicted his point of view. At about 4am that Sunday morning, after hours of staring at my computer screen locked up in the plush Fifth Avenue offices, it dawned on me that I didn't have to put up with this. I could have redone the whole thing to appease my boss, but I quit instead."
