It's now over a year since the first employers started to auto-enrol their employees into a workplace pension scheme, completely revolutionising the way pensions work in this country. Opt-out rates have been lower than expected - statistics released by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) revealed that less than 10% of employees have opted out - prompting many to declare auto-enrolment a success. This is all very encouraging, but we need to make sure that we convince this new population of auto-enrolled members to carry on making contributions. Furthermore, the second group of employers staging are medium-sized and the experience for these stagers is bound to be very different.
