At 8,400rpm the Honda Integra R is pulling almost 60mph in second gear as it hurtles through the first 60m-radius right-hand bend of Mira's new wet handling circuit. Despite the sodden slippery asphalt, the front-wheel-drive car grips as if it had velcro tyres, shoots through the bend and descends on the right hander hairpin with unabated velocity, its VTEC engine wailing like Pavarotti on acid.
