There's no doubting that Las Vegas is a strange place. Everything there is trying to be something else. Whether it's a barely scale model of the Eiffel Tower or a larger than life Bridge of Sighs, nothing is quite what it seems. NAB 2000 was no exception to this rather warped general rule. According to the publicity, the show this year was 'The Convergence Marketplace'. In reality, there was still lots of room for the guys who make cables and lights, transmitters and OB vans. And rightly so. In the midst of all the hullabaloo about the Internet and convergence, it is sometimes forgotten that you need more than a PC and a virtual presenter to make most kinds of product.
