Will this year be Soho's summer of DVD? The first few months of 2000 has seen a mushrooming in interest in DVD authoring and encoding among UK facilities, as outfits look to other areas than film and video editing to drive revenues. "Over the past six months it seems like everyone has started to put up the signs," says Andy Evans, previously head of TVI/4MC's Stream DVD facility, who set up his own venture. In May, former One UK director Peter Woolliscroft launched his latest DVD venture, The Digital Group, which, three months after its opening, is on the verge of launching its own DVD label.
