A London studio takes me to task for what I've been writing about the demonstration of raw digital video from modified DVD players given to professionals at the DVD Summit in Dublin. As reported, NEC installed a digital video projector with Texas Instruments' micromirror chip and used it to run the The World Is Not Enough DVD on a Pioneer player, which had been modified to deliver SDI digital video. The Dublin event was open to the press and no-one said: "Listen, what we are going to show is in confidence." We were told we were seeing "DVD as DVD is meant to be seen".
