Net needs TV's sense of style

One of the more frustrating things about being a journalist is that if you want to retain your integrity, you can't buy shares in companies you cover. For the part of my career I spent at Broadcast that was probably a blessing in disguise, otherwise I might have invested my hard-earned cash in the likes of Avid and SGI and watched the management destroy my wealth. But the last three years have been a bit frustrating, watching Internet stocks going through the roof and not being able to capitalise on it. What has become clear over the last six months or so is that convergence is becoming a reality. Media and telecoms stocks have risen sharply as investors take in the enormity of what will happen when you mix computers, TVs and telephones either attached to a wire or an antenna.
