Catherine Wright interviews Two-Way TV head Simon Cornwell about the past present and future of interactive television. There are few people in the business who can truly claim to be interactive television pioneers. But Simon Cornwell, managing director of Two-Way TV, is one of them. He first became involved in the field while working at Granada in 1990, but left to found his own company with partner Bill Andrews in 1992. The company started interactive TV trials in the Birmingham area and pioneered a form of interactive game playing and data-enhanced TV programmes. Currently, Two-Way TV is available on the Cable and Wireless digital platform in the UK, which, along with the betting company Ladbrokes, owns a stake in Two-Way TV. The firm recently signed a deal with the UK's Telewest to be carried on the operator's digital service to be launched this summer.
