摘要

Asteroids are intermediate products of the growth of planetary bodies. Similar to what is observed on the Moon, the surfaces of airless bodies such as asteroids retain accumulated histories of solidto-solid interactions.Meteorites that fall to Earth are fragments of asteroids; however, their entry into Earth's atmosphere erases much of the evidence for the processes affecting their surfaces in space.
