摘要

Four buildings at the Kushiro Technique High School, damaged in the 1993 Kushiro-Oki and the 1994 Hokkaido-Toho-Oki earthquakes, were modeled as an assembly of nonlinear elements to verity our present techniques for earthquake-resistant design of structures. the input motions were independently evaluated based on the strong motions recorded on the ground at the Kushiro District Meteorological Observatory, 2 km west of the school, and the soil-structure interaction was taken into account.
