摘要

On 25-27 May 2010, the first Joint International Conference on Multibody System Dynamics (IMSD) took place at the Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland, organized by Aki Mikkola and Werner Schiehlen. This series of conferences was the answer to the feeling within the multi-body dynamics community that a world-level event was missing, and that it would be the finishing touch of the significant development and consistent maturity reached by the discipline.
