Pearl River Huangpu Southern Channel Bridge, China

摘要

The Pearl River Huangpu Southern Channel Bridge is a steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1108 m. This paper presents the final design, global static and dynamic analysis, and construction of the southern channel bridge, including the anchorage foundation and block, pylon foundation and shaft, main cable, cable band, main cable saddle, splay saddle and steel box girder. The design loads and safety factors of the main cable in Chinese codes are compared with those in Eurocodes.
