US manufacturing economic activity slowed in September, but still expanded for the second consecutive month, according to a monthly survey of supply executives.rnThe September PMI measure of economic activity was 52.6%, down 0.3 points from August, the Institute for Supply Management Manufacturing (ism.ws) said. A reading above 50% indicates the manufacturing economy is generally expanding; below 50% indicates it is generally contracting. Computer & Electronic Products was among the manufacturing industries reporting growth.
