Mentor Graphics Corp. named Alan Friedman vice president of human resources. He will oversee organizational planning and development, employment, compensation, benefits, safety and health and employee services. Prior to joining Mentor, Friedman worked for companies including Novell Inc., CambridgeTechnology Partners and Wang Laboratories.rnDr. David Kung has been named chair of the IEEE Design Automation Technical Committee (DATC).rnDATC is a technology member organization of the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) and provides a forum where researchers, developers, users and students can exchange ideas. Dr. Kung is the senior manager of the rndesign automation department at IBM Research.
