DfM in PCB Assembly

Much like bare circuit boards, assemblies have unique sets of production issues, and their omission can be devastating to the factory. Let's look at a practical example from the assembly side of the house. The most important thing to say about DfM is that it must be incorporated early in the process, even at the point of schematic capture during design. An early look at components required by the schematic can have large impact on the outcome of both design and assembly.
