CtP has been used extensively in the graphic arts industry for the past five years. The questions about CtP have changed in this period: it is no longer a matter of whether CtP is to be used or not, but of when it is to be introduced and which technology should be selected. This leads to the related question: which CtP technology is the best for a company? One of the idiosyncrasies of CtP is that imaging technologies have supplanted previous ones at short intervals. From the beginning of the 1990s, until 1995, the industry used internal drum imagesetters with blue ArgIon Lasers, which were replaced by green FDYAG lasers at drupa 1995.
