EXPERIENCE WITH CONSTRUCTION OF 500 KV GAS INSULATED SWITCHGEAR AT THE VOTKINSK HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT

As an inseparable part of the main electrical circuit of the Votkinsk Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), the electrical circuit of the 500 kV outdoor distribution system was developed at the end of the 1950's using equipment from that time. When the 500 kV outdoor distribution system was rebuilt, its switching equipment was worn out and obsolescent and the manufacturers had stopped providing spare parts, so that reliable operation of the equipment could not be ensured even with great repair expenditures.
