摘要

The topics covered in a panel discussion held at the 1990 IEEE/PES Winter Meeting are summarized. The panel discussion addresses the need for marketing information systems in today's electric utility industry, the essential components of such systems, and the limitations of these systems in improving customer service. These topics are addressed as they relate to demand-side management programs. This report is based on the results of an industry survey and on the experiences of selected utilities represented on the panel.
