Tallink's Star entered service between Helsinki and Tallinn on April 12, 2007. She measures 33,000 tons, is 610 feet long and can carry 1,900 passengers and 120 trucks or 450 cars. Her speed is 27 knots, reducing the crossing time to two hours. She has been given a distinctive -bright green hull color. Tallink's Superfast ships also sail between Helsinki and Tallinn, and Tallink has sold two of the three fast craft from the route. Tallink now uses the name Tallink Silja, though services are still marketed under the Tallink, Silja, and Superfast names. Another big overnight ferry, similar to the 48,915-ton Galaxy, has been ordered from Aker for delivery in 2009.
