Air monitoring equipment, whether ambient or part of a continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) needs to be verified using an outside source. Without proper calibration and maintenance every system will eventually start to give unreliable data. Methods of verification vary depending on the method of measurement and what components are being measured. Therefore, while designing a system it is important to include the necessary verification support equipment.
