That's what researchers and advocates of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) must be saying after the Environmental Protection Agency on March 27 proposed the first Clean Air Act standard for CO2 emissions from new power plants. The news prompted pundits to declare an end to new coal-fired generation and the need for CCS technology. CCS is not dead or dying. It will be kept alive by one simple and inevitable reality - rising natural gas prices.
