摘要

The design of HVDC cables is governed by maximum acceptable values of conductor and ambient temperatures, and by maximum acceptable values of transient and steady-state stresses (voltage gradients) in the cable dielectric. Because these stress distributions are related in a complex fashion to temperature and stress, iterative procedures are required to design these cables. A logic diagram and all equations and reference required to accomplish these designs are provided. The equations are readily solvable with a calculator.
