This paper presents a review of characteristics and modeling ofnmajor power electronic types of harmonic sources for power systemnharmonic analysis. The power electronic switching types of harmonicnsources to be reviewed include static power converters, static VArncompensators (SVCs), and cycloconverters. Discussions and comments fornapplications of these harmonic sources in harmonic modeling andnsimulation are also described
