The Brazilian shipping industry today counts with investment projects involving billions of dollars. Hundreds of ships were or will be ordered, new shipyards are being constructed and others are in the process of expansion. Petrobras' business plan for 2011-2015 forecasts investments of US$ 224.7 billion, 57% (US$ 127.5 billion) will be destined to the exploration and production segments.
