Noreq to deliver cranes for offshore wind farms in Germany

Noreq was recently awarded the contract for the delivery of WTPCs (Wind Turbine Platform Cranes) for use on the Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm. The customer for this project is DONG Energy, a company Noreq has worked with before on other offshore wind farm installations. Two private investors, KIRKBI - the parent company of the LEGO Group - and William Demant Invest, are also involved as owners. DONG Energy will build the Borkum Riffgrund 1 wind farm in the German sector of the North Sea. The farm will be one of Germany's largest wind farms, with a capacity of 320 MW, and it will be able to supply CO2-free power equivalent to the annual consumption of nearly 330,000 German households. The farm is located some 55 kms off the north-west coast of Germany.
