London Gateway development continues

The DP World London Gateway development continues with the arrival of three giant quay cranes during early March when the heavy-lift vessel Zhen Hua 26 arrived at the location following a three month voyage from China's Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Company (ZPMC). The biggest ever to be delivered to the UK, the cranes are 138 m tall and weighing 2,000 t, and were upright on the ship. These will be just the first quay cranes destined for London Gateway. A further 21 will be delivered once construction on the six main berths is completed. The quay itself - where the cranes will sit - will be over 2.5 kms in length and a draft of 50 m once the port is fully operational.
