Nigeria's port industry has been abused for long enough. Mercedes and Jaguars concealed amongst cartons of cornflakes, drugs and weapons mixed with raw materials — custom officers were never sure what they would stumble on next. Wanting to make a stand, the Nigerian government announced in April this year that all cargo would be inspected upon arrival instead of, and sometimes as well as, before shipping.
