E-commerce in ports 10 golden rules

In the last issue of PdI, we conducted an appraisal of the role of ports in the supply chain, and explored real life examples of e-commerce in the bulk and breakbulk sector. This month, we will investigate the challenge of managing expectations, both internally with port management and externally with e-commerce partners. Based on the business, technical and human issues surrounding the transition to e-commerce, we can begin to develop a blueprint for practical implementation — some 'Golden Rules' that may be pre-requisites for success.
