Recovery on the way

UK Smaller Ports are a privatisa-tion success. Clydeport currently offers the most upside prospects over the medium term with steadily growing revenues from ports activities and good potential from the development of the Glasgow waterfront. Forth Ports and Mersey Docks offer less upside. Growth in key ports activities such as container and Ro-Ro freight traffic is forecast to slow in 2002 reflecting weaker global economic activity. However volumes and revenues are forecast to recover to their medium term growth trends in 2003.
