The 2008 Accord—Honda's eighth generation—is among the first V6 engines to achieve California's strict Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle status, emitting exhaust that's 90 percent cleaner than the exhaust from the average vehicle in 2004. Its tightly sealed fuel system keeps gas from evaporating into the atmosphere, stopping a com-rnmon source of emissions. And its 268-horsepower engine can run with two or three cylinders deactivated, increasing fuel efficiency by 10 percent.
