New Car Smell, Old Car Smell

I love the way new cars smell. I realized this once again while walking past the Chrysler dealership near our office the other day. A new 300C was being prepped and the doors were open. I could smell it all the way from the sidewalk, and that surprised even me. I guess when it comes to car odors, I have a nose like a bloodhound. Got a rich condition? I can smell it. Oil leak? Same thing. I can even smell the difference between burning mineral oil and synthetic. The women out there might furrow their eyebrows at this next one, but there's even a difference between the smell of a new Chevy and a new Ford. Put a blindfold on me, stick me behind the wheel, and I can tell the difference. The difference in smell is probably due to some variance in the plastic, tab-ric and rubber content-all simultaneously releasing their harmful, carcinogenic pheromones in a cloud of aphrodisiac.
