HISTORIC STRIP GETS NEW LEASE ON LIFE

Ohio's Dragway 42, located in the hamlet of West Salem, Ohio, was up for sale recently, and racers far and wide worried about the fate of the property as we all do when a track comes up for purchase. Opened in 1961, Dragway 42 has hosted four-wide drag races, rockets, and other wild exhibitions in the decades it has been open. The track was purchased by a local family who intends to keep it open and functional as a dragstrip, apparently with plans to resurface the track as well.
