摘要

The compatibility of ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer with polypropylene is assessed by differential scanning calorimetry using the O'Neill method over the temperature range from 335 to 410 K. Molar heat capacities of various blends of these two polyolefins were determined for four compositions (20/80, 40/60, 60/40 and 80/20/100 w/w) and for individual components. Linear relationships between the contributions of components to overall C_p values were evaluated for unprocessed and γ-irradiated mix- tures. The composition of polymer specimens does not influence the relative contribution of constituents to the calculated C_p values for tested blends exposed to the same dose. The effect of dose is pointed out for the characterisation of radiation compatibility.
