Some techno-economic data bases and an integrated assessment on environmental investments in Bulgarian industry

From the 60-s to the 80-s the predominant policy in Bulgaria was the extensive development of the industry in the framework of a command and control system. This policy resulted in substantial negative impact on the national environment as a whole. The analytical data presented in the report cover the period 1990-1997 part of which are published for the first time. The data for the air emissions are officially published by the Ministry of Environment and Waters. The experts in the Clean Industry Center at the Bulgarian Industrial Association used background information from the national statistics, the governmental institutions, the OECD Environmental Performance Review and their own studies developed with the support of the French Ministry for Environment.
