THE ROYAL ULSTER CONSTABULARY GEORGE CROSS GARDEN ACT OF REMEMBRANCE 2016

The annual Royal Ulster Constabulary George Cross Garden Act of Remembrance was held on a beautiful autumnal day in the Area of Peace within the Garden at 11am on Friday 11th November 2016. The Service was once again conducted by the Reverend Dr. Colin McClure, the Minister of First Larne Presbyterian Church, and this year was attended by over 200 people. Those attending included both serving and retired police officers and support staff, along with many members of the wider police family. Psalm 23 was read by Chief Inspector Natalie Wilson and a prayer by Michael Wilson, a volunteer with the RUC GC Foundation. The bugler was Sergeant Adrian Miller and this year, for the first time, a Piper's Lament was played by Constable Rab Cupples of the PSNI Pipe Band. A number of wreaths were laid, including one on behalf of the Foundation and one on behalf of the Chief Constable.
