This two-volume text contains over 2600 pages covering all sports-related injuries and associated areas of sports medicine. The first edition, a three-volume set with a separate paediatric and adolescent volume, was first published in 1994 and set the benchmark for detailed and well referenced sports medicine texts. The new edition is edited by three well-known American orthopaedic surgeons, with 213 contributing authors, Both the first and second editions are primarily aimed at orthopaedic surgeons so there is a strong surgical emphasis throughout the text. However, the volumes are so broad in scope and detailed in depth that all practitioners are likely to find it a useful source of information on any aspect of sports medicine.
