At the time of writing we can only think of the full possible impact of the recession on our members, but already some of the effects are beginning to be felt. A while ago we noted the diminished number of job opportunities in the National Health Service and the results of re-structuring on career prospects. Now some of our private practitioners report that patients are reducing the frequency of their attendances as they too are affected by the economic downturn.
