The German federal government made an agreement with its major utilities to limit the amount of electricity to be generated by nuclear power plants. What will be Germany's future energy policy, as they face problems such as reduction in carbon dioxide? Dr. Horst Boehm, former Chairman of the Board of Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Center), willingly consented to our request to write an article about the background and circumstances that lead to the agreement, the effects of the agreement, and the Government's future energy policy.
