The ultimate goal for astrophysicists is to find a unified theory that describes everything from creation through all eternity, or to express it in a simple and beautiful equation. General relativity, quantum mechanics, grand unified theory of electromagnetic, weak and strong forces, and superstring theory, all have tried to explain everything in the universe thus far, but it was found that these were only part of a theory of everything. Finding a unified theory of everything that is coherent and consistent with all phenomena is a goal of astrophysicists. It almost sounds like never-ending research -like an infinite universe.
