One Model Plumbing Code and One Model Mechanical Code are Possibilities

On Aug. 23, 2005, The International Code Council (ICC) announced that its officials are having talks with officials of the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) about combining their plumbing and mechanical codes. If the two organizations follow through with the talks and combine the codes, it will be a great milestone in code history. We are not there yet, though, so I'm not going to hold my breath.
