U3O8 price softens on little activity as market enters slow summer season

The uranium price softened the week of July 9, due to little or no activity as market participants took time off for vacation and continued to wait for the Sprott-Uranium Participation Corp. deal to be finalized. S&P Global Platts assessed a current month uranium spot price to Canada at $32.40/lb at 1 pm ET July 16. That price is 10 cents lower week on week; Platts assessed a current month U3O8 spot price to Canada at $32.50/lb July 9. It was the second week in a row the current week price has declined. Current month prices assessed by Platts the week of July 12 ranged between $32.35/lb and $32.50/lb, with the last three days of the week sitting at $32.40/lb.
