France regulator ASN approves first fuel delivery to EDF's Flamanville-3

French nuclear safety authority ASN has approved delivery of first fuel to the Flamanville-3 EPR in northern France, the regulator said in a decision released Oct. 12. The start of commissioning of the 1,650-MW EPR, including loading fuel into the reactor, is scheduled for late 2022, ASN said. Fuel loading still requires "a specific authorization, subject to prior public consultation," ASN said.
