China’s Xinxin H1 Ni output surges 38%

China’s Xinjiang Xinxin Mining Industry nproduced 3,057 mt of nickel cathode for nthe half-year ended June 30, up about n38% from the same period in 2009, amid nimproving demand, the company said nFriday. The company also produces copper nbut did not provide an output figure. For nJanuary-June, the company’s Kalatongke nnickel-copper mine produced 178,303 nmt of ore containing 1,534 mt of nickel nand 2,349 mt of copper, while its Xinjiang nYakesi and Hami Jubao mines produced na combined 189,711 mt of ore contain-ning 837 mt of nickel and 470 mt of cop-nper. January-June sales of nickel cathode ntotaled 3,168 mt at a value of Yuan 422.1 nmillion, compared with 2,060 mt at Yuan n172.3 million in H1 2009. Copper cathode nsales volume was 2,070 mt at Yuan 98.9 nmillion, compared with 2,424 mt at Yuan n72.1 million previously. The company said it nexpected full-year output of nickel cathode nand copper cathode to exceed 2009 levels nof 5,078 mt and 5,032 mt, respectively, nbut cautioned that uncertainty remained in nterms of metal prices and the domestic raw nmaterials market
