China’s Anhui Xinke New Materials expects toncomplete a 120,000 mt/year copper rod plant innWuhu city, central Anhui province, by mid-2013,na company source said Thursday. Construction ofnthe Yuan 666 million ($106 million) plant is underway,nthe source added. The company is also planningnto build a 40,000 mt/year copper strip plantnin Wuhu and bring it online in 2014. This plantnwill cost an estimated Yuan 1.24 billion ($195nmillion). “We are waiting for the final approval ofnthe board of directors, who will meet on July 20.nFollowing the approval, construction will start,” thensource said referring to the copper strip project.nShanghai-listed Xinke is mainly engaged in the productionnof copper-based alloy strip and wire, brightncopper rod, power wire and cable.
