DRC power issues slow ramp-up of Anvil mine

Power-supply issues in the Democratic nRepublic of Congo have slowed copper nproduction at Australian copper miner Anvil nMining’s Kinsevere operations, the com-npany said Tuesday. Anvil is a subsidiary of nChina’s Minmetals Resources. Only about n4,000 mt of copper cathode have been nproduced this year because of unexpected nnetwork outages in the Katanga province, nwhere Kinsevere is located, Anvil said. The ncompany is working to ramp-up production nat Kinsevere with the addition of a new nsolvent-extraction-electrowinning plant.
