Solar photovoltaic output in the California IndependentrnSystem Operator’s territory continues to drive net load and pricesrnlower, according to data from the ISO.rnFrom January to April of this year, continued growth of solar PVrnhas pushed net energy demand in the Cal-ISO 5.4% lower than lastrnyear, averaging 454.5 GWh/d.rnOn an hourly basis, the most significant reduction in net load hasrnoccurred across on-peak hours (hour ending 7 to hour ending 22),rnwhere net load averaged 19.6 GW this year, down 5.5% from 2015. Netrnload during off-peak hours is down 2.2%, averaging 18.2 GW fromrnJanuary to April.
