Many respond to New England clean power RFP

The Clean Energy Request for Proposals issued jointly by the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island last November netted at least four proposals to supply and/or deliver large volumes of renewable energy to utilities in the three states. A summary of the proposals is not expected to be posted for several days. However, a team that includes Invenergy, Hydro-Quebec, Anbaric and National Grid confirmed that it submitted a proposal to deliver a combination of wind and hydroelectric power to southern New England via a new 60-mile transmission line called the Vermont Green Line.
