Electric Reliability Council of Texas next-day prices fell Wednesday on an expected surge in wind output on Thursday, while prices in the Southeast strengthened on forecasts of freezing temperatures. ERCOT North Hub next-day power futures for Thursday delivery fell about $4.50 to the low $20s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange, but were still about $1.75 above where the balance-of-the-week package traded. Wind output was expected to surge overnight, more than doubling to 276 GWh on Thursday from 125 GWh on Wednesday.
