A key Electric Reliability Council of Texas stakeholder panel on Nov. 17 rejected a generator winterization inspection fee schedule proposed by staff in favor of allocating the actual costs as fees for all generators generally on a “Net Dependable Capability” share basis. However, an ERCOT staff proposal to expedite the return to service of generation capacity that has been retired less than three years received support by the majority during the Nov. 17 Protocol Revision Subcommittee, which staff was told will result in additional capacity for the coming 2021-22 winter peak.
